That's only part of it. Do you have the separator and receiver? For Freon I presume?

NO, NO, NO. A vacuum pump is strictly for vacuuming an empty/dry system. You will need an actual refrigerant recovery machine with rated parts for the refrigerant you are dealing with. The fact that you asked this question tends to make be believe you are not licensed to be handling refrigerants in which case you are breaking the law. For further advice (at least from me) show a copy your refrigerants license and I will be happy to help you out. Or, just use that vacuum pump as a recovery machine and ruin the pump and the ozone. It really is your call. Just hope OSHA doenst catch wind of it, you literally would not believe what the fines and or jail time can amount to. Yep, jail for illegally handling refrigerants. Pretty sure these days you can be fined for farting upwind of the wrong person. Not my rules, just the rules I have to follow, so I guess every body should?

PS. I still fart whenever I have the urge, and haven't landed in jail yet..

Absolutely not.
