I live in a ground floor flat and I for the last 4 hours I can hear what can only be described as the water tank constantly filling up. I have pin pointed it down to a cold water pipe but I don't know if ths is for my flat or the upstairs flat.
I have tried turning off my water in the flat which makes no difference, and have also tried running taps to empty the tap just in case the stopcock has jammed.
This has only resulted so far in what can be described as the water pressure being reduced but the noise is still there.

How many flats In your building? This water tank. Does it serve all the flats? Has anyone gone up there and check the float valve? Can you furnish more details?

Hi there are a total of 6 flats in the block. 3 ground 3 first floor. I think each set of 2 flats have their own sections. A friend has suggested that it's the ballcock valve may be stuck open. My upstairs neighbours are out and access to the loft space is through their flat so cannot get access yet.

Float valve= ball cock! I also think is that valve. Is there any way that you can gain access to the loft? Back to you, Tom
