(8-24-11) I had water leaking on my floor from my Evap. Coil unit, the HVAC Company repaired some wires under the old Evap. Coil unit where the blower fan is at ($144.00) because the unit would not work from leaking water damage. Then cleaned the unit the next 2 business days @ ($85.00) and stated next summer I would need a new Evap. Coil unit which the Company replaced on April of 2012 @ ($1285.00).
After the installation of the new unit, the next morning water was again getting my floor wet and I opened the panel's to the unit to discover the flexi drain hose wasn't even connected to the pipe coming out from the floor. I called the company and the receptionist stated the owner would be at my home to inspect the unit before 5 pm. The owner did not show up and the next morning I called them back and was told he would call me. I never received a call so the next day I hired a plumber to correct the drain line. I called the HVAC Company back and stated I had to call a plumber to repair the drain line as my hallway was wet from water and asked for the owner to please call me as soon as he could. No call. 2 days later I called the company back and stated the coil lines on the Evap. Coil unit was dripping water over the drain pan as the coil copper lines hung over the drain pan and again she stated she would give the owner the message to call me, No call.
Now I have water leaking on my floor from the new Evap. Coil Unit?
The drain line is not clogged, the filters are clean and I have changed them one per month since the new unit was installed, the Freon is not low, and the coils are not dirty.
In June of 2012 I had another HVAC Service check my AC unit as it coming off and on a lot and not cooling the home and was pooling water. It was low not very low but low on Freon. He charged the Freon up ($35.00) R22 and the system ran fine until now (water leaking from the new Evap. Coil Unit?) on the front inside drain pan panel where the unit connects to the drain pan. It is also has condensation in that area and running towards the corner dripping on the blower bottom unit on the wires. I taped electrical tape around the wires that connect in the frame of the blower unit. I called the HVAC Company that installed the Evap. Coil unit and I get the same statement (I'll tell the owner and have him call you back) NO call and it has been 3 days. It's a shame that I am stuck with this issue as I am a single woman searching for a job and have a very low amount of money in my possession. I have called other HVAC Companies and was told different things that could be causing this issue, a p trap needs to be installed to stop negative air or the drain pan was not sealed properly. I will post a picture and maybe someone can explain how I might can reseal the area or something would be very much appreciated! I know this post is long but I wanted to explain detailed information.
