He's a little too young for Bipolar Disorder. Why the severe diagnosis?
Sounds more like the terrible twos and a spoiled toddler.

He could, but not this early.
If you are concerned about this, take him to his pediatrician and explain your concerns.
However, it sounds like a spoiled toddler experiencing the terrible twos.

He's too young for medication. Get a second opinion.

I don't blame you for being hesitant about medication!
If you can get to a university medical center, they usually have more specialists who can spend the time needed to get an accurate diagnosis (if there is one).
He may need a quiet and structured environment without a lot of stimuli more than drugs at this stage. If he is retarded or autistic, you need to know as soon as possible. You really need a specialist.
It would be even more helpful of the parents could be re-evaluated too.

The head-banging could be a sign of autism. Let the doctor know about these behaviors and what triggers them.
