So I'm 17 my brother is 24. He lives a few miles away he's always been overprotective but he left home when I was 11. Since then I've grown up. He and my big sister both say its hard because one day I was 11 and shy and a tomboy and when they came home that summer I was 12 and had gotten taller and was not a tomboy anymore. They said every time they leave home and come back I've grown up more.

I just started dating. I made a pact not to date when I was younger then 17. My sisters fine with it, but my brother just HAS to drive me to the movies when me and my boyfriend go. He says guys that age drive like maniacs and he didn't want me alone in the car with a 17 year old boy. He said that like I was still 11 years old! He listens in on my phone calls. I mean I love him but, How do I make him see I'm not a kid anymore?

How this he listen into a phone call if he doesn't live with you? Where are your parents?

He sounds worried about you. Have you complained to your parents?

He sounds like a concerned big brother. If it bothers you that much talk to your parents. If anything it is keeping you from doing something reckless.

You will always be his kid sister but you will have to learn how to talk him into backing off a while. Actually this is normal by a big brother who cares, but won't he be leaving in the fall?

Hey I feel the same way too. My older brother is 39 and I'm 20 and he still sees me as if I was born yesterday plus he talks and lectures me like I'm 12. You should talk to your parents about it or let your bro know how you feel.
