You will find that all the instructions for getting rid of spiders with essential oils require that you sweep down all the cobwebs first. Sweeping down the webs is what chases the spiders away.

But... why remove spiders anyway? Have you no idea what good they really bring you? Spiders truly are amazing creatures and I mean this seriously.

Eh, I don't seem to have such problems.

I wouldn't waste essential oils on spiders. When you do regular housekeeping and get cobwebs down, then that cuts the spider population down too.

Adding my two cents worth, as I don't mind the spiders on the outside of the house, but really don't like them sharing my pillow... or my shower... or eating my sandwich when I get up to get some iced tea to go with it...

@tigger, thanks, that's a good site. Would like to point out too that spiders like crawling in warm laundry baskets. I have been bitten by a spider a few times, after putting my PJs on. The bite lasts for days and is very itchy and uncomfortable.

I really like the link you posted as those essentials oils lend a lovely scent to surroundings.

That's so cute. Summation: spray the webs with a soap solution so they aren't sticky; Use oils to make it smell better; Then get rid of the spiders by sweeping the webs down.

As long as you sweep the webs down, whatever gives you peace of mind is what you should use.
