I've been talking to this girl from Winneba, Ghana for about three months. We're getting pretty serious and I want to commit, I've read all about the scams out of that area but a lot of the things she's told me all make sense except for one. She told me her grandmother will give her inheritance of two 300 ounce gold bricks when she comes to the states to be with me, the catch is I have to pay for the ticket whis about $3500 usd. I checked on trading prices of gold both here and their and it seems there's no reason bot to at least sell one there to cover travel and initial costs so my question would be, firstly, does this sound like a scam and if not why wouldn't she be able to sell the bricks there?

It's a common scam.
How did you actually "meet" her? Did she first contact you?
Have you ever actually met in person?
Once you send the money, then there will be something else that comes up... passports, visas, airport "fees", she will be grabbed by the authorities and need to pay them fees, her mother or grandmother or someone will become sick and need the money to save them... there's a number of things that happen in these scams. It will keep happening until you give up or run out of money.
Also, chances are, you're not even communicating with a woman.

Scam, actually two scams in one, it takes the dating scam and combines the common gold scam.
This is a fraud, not a single doubt.
And I bet she wanted the money sent Western Union.
I bet if you tell her you will do a pre arranged ticket, or you will travel to Ghana, marry there and come back to US, she will have other stories
