Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me identify a Western movie I saw some time ago.

At the beginning, the protagonist walks into a saloon in a small town, gets into a fight, gets beaten up and thrown outside. He wakes up, goes back in and shoots everyone inside. Also, I recall a preacher-character who advises him to bury the people he killed.

Now the protagonist decides to start his own town, becomes a sheriff (or a judge) and even gets a couple of deputies (I believe 7). As I remember, he brings complete law and order to the place.

I can’t remember what happens at the end.

By the way, I know that the whole story begins in a museum, where a lady inquires about a gun on the display. The curator then proceeds to tell the above story.

Thank in advance.

I believe this is "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean", from 1972, starring Paul Newman.
