Hello. So for the fist time ever I got on birth control. I was like a day in my second week when I went off them. I had unprotected sex the first 3 days of being off the pill. Around the 4th day being off I noticed spotting. The bleeding would speed up and be heavyish then slow fown to spotting. Im now 6th day off the pill and bleeding is very light now all day I think its about done. Could I be pregnnt still dspit the bleeding? When can I test?
Thank you

The bleeding was likely due to you suddenly stopping the pill. There's a very good chance that you're pregnant. Why did you choose this approach when trying to conceive? Obviously you're trying to conceive, otherwise you wouldn't have stopped the pill and then had unprotected sex.

You'll have to wait until your next scheduled period (which may be off because of starting and then abruptly stopping the pill). If you miss that period, wait two weeks, then test using first morning urine. Keep in mind that your schedule will likely be off because of what you did to your body by starting and then suddenly stopping the pill

Good luck and baby dust your way.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah me and my husband decided to try. I was worrid the heavy bleeding/light bleding meant no baby. You think though still a chance? That it couldn't be my period way early because I messed up my cycle because of stopping pills mid pack? I thought maybe withdrawal bleeding but can it be pretty heavy ? Really hoping to be pregnant

The pill is used to stop you from ovulating, but the pill takes at least a month to be effective. You stopped the pill mid pack, so around 2 weeks after you started using it. Stopping mid pack may have brought on your period.

In other words, the bleeding you experienced could be a period because you stopped the pill mid pack, which is not recommended. Pregnancy is also possible because you stopped the pill mid pack and had unprotected sex.

There's really no way to guess if you're pregnant or not. You'll have to wait and see, like every other woman on Earth.

Good luck.

I see, I am crampy on just my left side wich I heard could be implantation. But if I conceived it would have to be earliest 5 days ago. Can it happen that quick. And if it was my period it was strange. It was watery like and would stop randomly and stuff, then be a little heavy then be light

At five days after sex, it would be too early to feel symptoms. If you believe you could have conceived 5 days ago, you wouldn't even be officially pregnant yet. In other words, no, it can't happen that quickly.

Again, you'll have to wait until your next scheduled period, then test 2 weeks after you miss it. Use first morning urine, it's the most accurate. If that test is negative it could be because you tested too soon, it could also be because your body is messed up because of the use and then abrupt stop of the pill. So, if the test is negative, wait for your next scheduled period, and if you miss it, test again or get a blood test done.

That's really the only advice we can give online.
