I live in Florida. I have lived in my home for 8 years. The house is about 14 years old. Every 6 months since I moved in the sewer backs up. Our toilet begins to make a bulbbling sound and the water level drops then eventually my shower stall overflows with sewer water. We rent an auger from home deport and it clears up right away. We never see anything on the auger tip when we pull it out. Now I want to replace my sod but before I spend the money, I want to fix the sewer for good. My husband is going to do it since I can't afford to pay someone. The pipe is PVC. Would you recomment having someone look with a camera first or just dig?

Do you know if it is PVC pipe all the way out, or perhaps connected to older, somewhere in yard.

I would run a camera though it, and find out the issue

Hi Pam and welcome to The Plumbing Page at AMHD.com. Greetings from Sarasota.

Would you recomment having someone look with a camera first or just dig? Running a sewer cam through the line to locate the source of the blockage shgould have been your first move. To repair the problem you must first locate it. Sewer Cam the line and get back to me with the results. Good luck, Tom
