My 8 month old son has been broken out in a rash for 20 days now he has gone through a whole bottle of benadryl that's what the doctor said to do didn't help at all they said to try a an d ointment held the moisture in and made it worse been through a whole thing of the triple cream and nothing all its doing is spreading and getting worse nothing has changed what do I do these damn doctors up here are stupid and apparently don't know there from a hole in the ground. I'm beyond frustrated what do I do
Where is the rash located?

It's all over is chest his arms his stomic his back his butt every were down the front side of him on the top half of his legs all around his neck behind his ears now is starting on his face and head
Is he in daycare? Sounds like a good case of hand foot and mouth disease. It usually lasts about 2 weeks then disappears as fast as it arrived.

No he stays home with me and his sister that's what I'm not understanding when it would come on that sudden doctor at acute said it was a reaction to his shots and would be gone in fourteen days or less its five days past
How old is his sister?
I'm not a doctor, just a nurse and a mother, but it does sound like hand foot and mouth to me.

It doesn't sound like hand fot and mouth to me.
My son got HF&M a couple of years ago, it started with a very high temp, then he got an itchy sensation on the palms of his hands an dbottom of his feet. In his mouth there were blisters. He would not eat, drink or sleep.
Maybe your son is having an allergic reaction? Have you changed his soap or your laundry soap?

Nothing has changed that's what got me if it was the water change it would have started soon after we got here I don't know but its starting to get to me
My son had HF&M last summer. No fever and it started on the nape of his neck. Never had it on his feet or in his mouth. Only the legs, arms, trunk, cheeks and hands.
At the time, our pediatrician said that there is a new strong strain going around that is not characteristic of they typical HF&M symptoms.

Is the rash bothering? Making him itchy or uncomfortable in anyway?
If the dr you are taking him to is not being helpful it may be time to get a second opinion.
Yes, I would definitely get a second opinion. This has gone on too long.

We can not see the rash so we can not tell you what needs to be done. Sorry
If you have done everything the dr has told you to do and it has not helped, please take him to another doctor for a second opnion.
