I had my heater replaced about 4 yrs ago due to a fire. The outside air unit still worked and continued to work. Then a couple years ago, it stopped working and I had it replaced but it has never worked right... I have had multiple companies come out. The last one at least thinks they have an answer. "the evap coil is a 2 1/2 Ton and the outside unit is only a 2 Ton and so I have to replace my New outside unit. The warranty on it was on 1 year and the company that installed is not helping me.

I feel stupid already if I bought something that did not fit and now I'm scared to buy another one and have the same problems. I feel there is no one I can trust.

It should work fine . What you have is not uncommon.

Thank you. They say this is causing the Liquid line to swell causing High head pressure? I think they want to replace that line, does that make sense? They are supposed to call me back today.

Only line difference is with R22 vs 401

There is no equipment out there which will produce pressures high enough to cause copper tubing to swell. Thus my comment of "bull".
It is quite common to have an indoor coil 1/2 or even 1 ton larger than the outdoor unit. A combination like this leads to higher efficiencies by alllowing better dehumidification. I strongly suggest you find a new A/C guy.

Thank you, I called the main office of the Heat and Air company and asked for the owner and manager... At first he just said the same thing as his flunky.. Then I hit with a few of your comments.. He said he would look into this and call me back! : )

If the owner or manager is no more knowledgeable than that, I'd run as fast & far as I could from that outfit.

So why do you think it's not getting cold enough? It runs, blows cool air but just is not keeping my small house 1100 sq ft cool. I thought the guy that put in the heat unit told me when I upgraded the outdoor unit I would need to replace the AC coil ?

When the outdoor unit was replaced, was it replaced with the same size as the old unit? If the old one was 2 1/2 tons & the new one is 2 tons, there is your answer. If the old one was 2, like the new one, I'm at a loss without data on temperatures, pressures, humidity, etc.
