I'm 16 and in grade 11. I have girlfriend who lives 10 minutes away walking distance, mall and shops within 15 minutes walkign distance and I love where I am now. I live in a condo-like building, not a house, but I love it. My girlfriend and I often hangout because of the convenience and sometimes she comes over. Its all fun and games tbh.

All of a sudden, my mom has a sudden urge to buy a house and looks at a certain house falls in love with it takes me there and I express my dislike for the house but she pulls out her phone to call someone excitedly when I said it so she couldn't really hear me. A week later.. A WEEK.. she puts an offer and apparently this house needs fixing and my moms policy is she does not want any fixing. Move in ready, but this house.. she totally chose everything she doesn't like and buys it. I'm confused. My exams are coming in less than two weeks, and my exams and the moving day is on the same week, maybe even the day. IM NOT READY.
I don't want to, I hate the house and I hate moving away from the people I love. I hate it. But I couldn't say it. My mom and step-dad looks so happy and I feel they gave up a lot for me.. I guess its my turn. But I hate.. I cry because I don't want to move. Yeah I do. I love where I am and I don't want to move.. at least not right now.
I'm not asking for a solutionbut just a site where I can vent. But thanks though

Hi anon, you can't vent all you want.

Yes, you are right, what goes around comes around. You have had a lot done for you now its your turn to give back. I am sure your timing for you exams and moving can be worked out if you discuss it with your mom and step dad.

Good luck. Having a house is a lot nicer then living in a condo.

Well hey, didn't this happen to a lot of us? My parents moved from one state to another, from a little modern house to a big huge old fixer-upper, and guess who had to do a lot of the fixing? We kids were 12, 14, 16 and were practically slave labor (seemed so at the time). My dad had to commute farther, work long hours, AND work on the house. We had to leave behind our school and our friends and start over. It was all my mother's idea too, and she didn't work.
Soon you will be on your own. You will find yourself living in hell holes if your parents don't support you. That's the struggle of being on your own, and it helps to learn early that You Can't Always Get What You Want.

When you approach a situation and take so much time to set it up to fail, it will fail. On the flip side if you approach a situation positively it will be a positive situation. Some people can't handle change. Don't be one of those negative people. Think about it - in 3 months this new area will be the norm. It is possible that you could meet better friends in this new area and even be happier. But that will only happen if you allow it. You need to approach change with a more positive attitude because this will not be the only change you have in your life.

I was a military brat and I moved ALLLL the time. It really does suck, especially when you are so close to being done school. Will you have to switch schools next year because of the move? Will you be much farther from your girlfriend now? Is there Anything cool about this new house that maybe has you a little bit excited?

Is there a friend or family member you could stay with so you don't have to be involved with the confusion and noise of moving during exams?

Kind of sounds like you don't have much choice, kind of a lump it or leave it deal. BELIEVE me, living at home with mom is MUCH easier than trying to make it on your own.
