I haven't pooped in 2 and 1/2 weeks.. It's starting to get uncomfortable, but this is normal for me I NEVER pop! Why? I have gastritis if that has anything to do with it I've been in the ER for it (gastritis) I've told them about the poop problem and they really didn't say much. I know it's not normal, please help. Thank you.

The ER doesn't usually deal with diagnosis. They are there to help with any problem you come in with, but for an existing issue, you need to see your family doctor, who will refer you to a specialist if need be.

You really need to see your doctor.

No sh!t eh?

I just really wanted to say that. See a doctor. When you do poop, where is it on the Bristol scale? (Google it if you need to.) I am just curious if you just get REALLY constipated or what. But see a doctor, get referred to a gastrointestinologist or a gastroenterologist.

Um, and this was the topic of conversation?

Have you eaten dried prunes and dried apricots?

You've tried OTC laxatives? An enema? Ask for a referral to a gastroenterologist.

It doesn't bug you? You said it was getting uncomfortable. So either it's uncomfortable, or it's not bugging you.

Either way, we can't diagnose online. If this is a concern, which it obviously is since you posted about it online, you'll need to see a doctor. I don't know a single doctor that wouldn't worry when a patient hasn't had a bowel movement in 2 1/2 weeks and is feeling discomfort because of it.

What I meant to say is I don't feel like I need to go poop. Like but my stomach does hurt sometimes. And I have not taken any kind of laxative pills or anything. Is there any bad side effects to them?

It depends on your medical conditions. I wouldn't take a laxative unless recommended by a doctor, especially with your diagnosis and constant constipation.

Really, you need to see a doctor, and tell him/her what's going on. They can't help you unless they know. They can't help unless you tell them what's going on. They're not miracle workers, they're human, they need you to give them the info that will lead to a diagnosis and therefore lead to getting help for the condition.

You need to see a doctor, and that's really the only advice anyone on this site, or anywhere else online, can tell you. We can't fix this for you, only a doctor has a chance to do so.

Good luck.
