I brought my car in several weeks ago to the tire service shop at a Walmart (first mistake!) In any case, I purchased 2 new front tires since they indicated the back tires were fine. As soon as I started driving it, I knew something was wrong. The car was shaking, along with the steering wheel - even at times while idling (very minimal, but still... ) And it seems to get worse while I'm going up hill.

I thought that it may be a balancing issue... my father brought it back to Walmart to have the tires balanced. Now, it's even worse.

I should probably mention, the new tires that I purchased are 70,000 mile Coopers, the older tires that I kept on there (that are on the back) are 70,000 mile Michelins. Could the fact they are different brand tires cause the shaking? I am highly irritated because my car was running totally fine before all of this. I made an appt. to bring the car into Honda Monday to have them look at it. Thank you very much for any advice you can give me :) Christine

Ok... first... if it is a balancing issue, that would not affect the car at idle. If the tires are not rolling, balance means nothing.

On top of that, if all they did was tires, then they couldn't really have caused anything else to go wrong... that would affect you at idle.

If you didn't throw in the comment about the car shaking at idle, I would have said to have the tires balanced at a trustworthy tire place because it does sound like a balance problem... except, as I said, for the idle.
