Hi there. I have a lovely, 4yr old staff cross. She's very fit and healthy as a rule. However, just recently she injured one if her pads which we treated accordingly, but the injury meant much less exercise than she's used to for a week. It has now healed well.
Yesterday she developed some small bumps ( almost like spots)all over her body that anybody else probably wouldn't notice, and she was scratching a lot. I bathed her in antibacterial shampoo and today they seem to be clearing up and she's stopped scratching. My concern is that she's just not herself at all. She's not as energetic as usual and her eyes look tired. I have an appointment at the vets in 2 days ( the earliest I can do due to work) but if anyone thinks its an emergency ill take her sooner. I have been told by friends and family that I overreact and I admit, that I may have tendency to worry as she's my beloved companion but I don't want to ignore something that could potentially be serious.
I'd be very grateful of any advice offered. Thank you

Could her pad still be throbbing even though she can walk?
Dogs don't express pain the way we do, whimpering.
Sometimes they whimper, but many times they just get quiet and reclusive, or they shiver or snap.

I use advcocate flea/tick/worm treatment monthly. I don't think her pad is hurting now, to be honset I was concerned if the spots/bumps may be a secondary symptom from the injury.

I doubt that spots are related to the injury. More likely - just a guess - a late spring pest?

Do you have black flies? Staffs and other bully breeds are notorious for allergies, both food and environmental. Is it very hot where you are? Is she spayed?
