So this girl and I have been dating about 4 months, I know that's not long. At first her parents loved me, but now for some reason they've decided they don't like that I'm 18. Should I be concerned about legal issues? We aren't having sex and didn't plan to until marriage, but her parents are doing everything to prohibit our relationship. Any advice would greatly help.

Date = no. Sex = yes (probably - depending on where you live).

Have you sat down and talked to the parents and explained y'alls commitment not to have sex until marriage?

Maybe they saw you two spending all your time together and they don't want that either. Maybe they are concerned that she will be missing the best parts of high school.

Usually, dating isn't a problem as Oliver said. However, her parents have said 'no' and that puts a different spin on it.

She is a minor and they can refuse to allow her to date. If you and she were to go behind their backs and they found out (depending on your location) they could press charges such as encouraging the delinquency of a minor. Some places have laws about interfering with parental custody/rights.

Were you 18 when you started dating? Did they think you were younger?

You might respectfully (very respectfully) ask to speak to them. Politely ask them if something happened that you might be able to fix. Listen to them and try to stay calm even if you do not like what you are hearing. If they continue to say no, then obey their rules.

There may be a chance that if she acts with maturity and abides by the rules, they may change their mind again allowing you to date. If she sneaks around to see you an they find out, not only would they lose trust in her but you could possibly end up with legal trouble.

Her parents refuse to talk to me, when her dad was away everything was fine ( he was cheating on his wife ) but when he came back they both started to hate me.

I was 17 when we started dating, they knew how old I was.

The cheating on his wife thing has nothing to do with your situation.

"when he came back they both started to hate me" - there has to be more to this story that you are not telling us.

Bottomline is until she is an adult her parents make the rules. As a potential parent in your future you should respect that.

Where did you get this personal info from? I don't think family dynamics are any of your business. And if parents don't like you two together you should respect their wishes.
