I want to take a lamp that has one light to a lamp with two lights, one one the bottom one on the top, with a rotary switch one click, gives you the bottom light , next click gives you the top light and three clicks give you both, what do I need to do that?

It would be wiser and easier to purchase such a light at a Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's or a specialized light store then go through the cost of finding the components you need and them assembling them into the existing lamp.

You would need light sockets, fittings and adapters, a 4 position switch -off, top, bottom, both and knowledge of basic wiring. The wiring is done basically the same as a fan with 3 speeds.

I was hoping to buy a kit, like the kind you buy to replace old wiring, I'm not sure what to ask for, I don't want/ am not able to assemble it myself, I was hoping to buy a kit. What should I ask for? Or does anyone know where I can purchase one?
