I have a 220v 3phase 4wire air compressor, how do I hook up wires to panel which is 220v 3phase?? Help Please...

What brand/model comp?
Is this a comm/ind application or home/garage/workshop?
Is the branch ckt and disc already in place? If not, how far is the run?
What panel type is feeding the branch ckt?
Are you a EC?

They hook up like any other circuit, there are just more wires.

I have exp. W 110/120v household elect. Just haven't done any 3phase stuff, dryers/welders.. common 220v single phase... the compressor I'm trying to hookup has} red, blk, blue, white, wires my question: what go's where??

No Joe I am not a EC just have exp w 110/220v house/shop stuff and 220v single phase stuff only, It's a Qunicy air compressor 5hp, 220v 3phase Baldor elect. Motor, red, blue, blk, white leads from it, w/3 ft. run to panel which is set up already w/ 3 phase as told to me by previous owner. So what wire's go where??

So if I understand correctly you have 3P to you panel... as told by the prev owner.

Just to make sure... you need to first verify that the pnl you are attempting to connect to is in fact 3 Phase.

What panel do you have... plate tag on the inside will tell most everything.

If you remove the panel cover... how many hot conductors are going to either the main lugs/main breaker in the pnl? Or how many bus bars do you see behind the branch ckt breakers?

Be great if you could post a pic so we know for sure what you're dealing with.

Does your compressor have the control box mounted on its side? Is the whip from the control box still attached to the disconnect switch? Or is the disconnect switch missing and your plan to replace it now?

Is the motor starter still with it? You cannot just hook it up to the building wiring without a motor starter.

Again, is this in your home, or a commercial space?

Hey... tks for updating us... post the pics of the panel back plane and the compressor (the control box/stater, whip and disconnect) and a general pic of the location with respect to the panel.

Also, might help to respond to stanforty's question regarding where this is being installed.

Most homes are not 3 phase equipped. The box definitely has to be examined before going any further.
