I live in Army govt. housing. Last summer, when we turned on the AC there was a natural gas smell in our home. The repairmen came and fixed some leaks around the furnace. However, when we turned on the ac/air again this summer, we have the natural gas smell again! The AC units are outside, but there is a huge vent/unit thing in my furnace room. The AC is electric but the furnace is gas. Why do I get natural gas smell--is it possible that there is a gas leak 'venting' into my large AC duct? The repairmen are not skilled techs. So I need help!!

Firstly, turn off all AC units. Being cooled off is not worth being poisoned. Secondly, call a gas detection company. It is possible that the "repairman" didn't fix the leak properly. As a result, you need to contact another professional.

Call the company that supplies the gas and tell them what you are experiencing.

Living in military housing, you are most likely going to have to deal with the resident maintenance people until you become such a pain in the neck they are forced to call in an outside contractor.
