I have a 1996 jeep cherokee sport; my front disk brakes keep seizeing on me after driving for 10 or 15minutes. The car brake pedal is very high, ihave to wait 20minutes till the car engine cools down so the brake pedal can work properly again. What's wrong here?. help!

Sounds like the calipers are bad. You need to remove them and see if they are any good. It could be the calipers themselves or the caliper slides but it's a sure thing that they aren't moving freely and usually it's one of those reasons.

The caliper pistons are not likely retracting properly. I would remove the calipers, clean the caliper pins with a rag, and lubricate the caliper pins with silicone grease. Also, I would ensure the brake pads move easily in and out on the caliper bracket. Clean any rust from the slides and file the "ears" on pad backing plate, if necessary. Lubricate the ears with silicone grease.

If the problem persists, the "square cut" seal on the caliper piston is not retracting the piston. Usually, this happens when corrosion and pitting form on the piston, due to the brake fluid not being changed every 2 years. In this case, the only solution is to replace the calipers and change the brake fluid.

It's best to use quality ceramic pads; e.g. Wagner ThermoQuiet. They run cooler, perform much better, last longer, and create less brake dust.
