Does anyone know how much 6 much smiles costs? And yes I know that it depends on how bad your teeth are but does anyone know how much it usually ranges from? I want and need braces, but my mom said since it's so expensive I have to wait. :/

I am 14 but turning 15 in August. And I will most likely be getting braces next year sometime. But I want 6 month smiles (not the regular braces , most people get). I would like to know whhat's more expensive: regular braces or 6 month smiles.

On the Six Months Smile site, it says "adult," so it sounds like it's only for 18 and older. Here is from the site -

This system is designed for adults, and is not recommended for children 16 or younger. It is important for children to have an orthodontic treatment plan which takes their future growth into consideration.

Costs: We will be able to fully determine your cost after looking at your teeth, to better understand the specifics of your individual needs. Cost changing factors can include the complexity of your case, how long your treatment will take, and your orthodontic insurance coverage. The cost of Six Month Smiles Clear Braces are typically $3300 to $4000 for 6 months of treatment, depending upon complexity of the case. Six Month Smiles patients can use financing options to spread their treatment costs over time.

Are you talking about metal vs. clear plastic braces? Your orthodontist should have plastic available, and even in colors.

Okay thank you so much! I'll have to go to my dentist to see if I am able to get 6 month smiles. I just wanted to know the cost. My teeth aren't really that bad. And I have a qiestion, do they even out your teeth when you get your braces off? Do you know?

You will not be eligible for Six Month Smiles until you are at least 16. Why are you so hung up on that program?

The braces even out your teeth. You might have to have some pulled to make space as teeth move. Braces are tightened every now and then and it hurts for a while as the teeth move into a better place. Brushing is a major problem; you HAVE TO keep your teeth clean or food will rot under the braces and start cavities. You will not be able to eat certain foods as long as you wear braces. My older son had braces when he was a teen.

I would like braces because I don't want to go into lile my senior year of high school and have braces. I want to get sox month smiles because you only have them on for six months vs about 2 years. And I don't need teeth pulled I just need a couple of them evened out because a few of them are a little bigger than the rest. My teeth are straight except for whem I smile then I have a few out of place and I have nine teeth that need to be straightened.

You won't be eligible for Six Month Smiles until at least 16. Since you need so little straightening, your orthodontist might even have a better way of straightening your teeth that wouldn't include full braces.

Why no braces senior year? You can get clear ones that are hardly visible.

Ho, ho, ho. That's what my son said. Then he got braces and the world (and his teeth-cleaning system) changed!

Lol what?
He had to learn how to correctly get stuck food out from under his braces, he had to learn a whole new way of brushing, and he had to buy a Water Pic for cleaning.

Why are you so obsessed with Six Month Smiles? Does someone you know have them? No one will care if you have braces as a senior. And you may not be eligible for other reasons besides age.

Because clear braces also known as invisalign, is more expensive than regular braces.

You may have alignment problems that will take more than six months to correct. All you can do is go to a good dentist to be evaluated and then take it from there.
