It looks like it's a dog tick. Only concern is if it's burrowing into you.

It is a dog, tick, or is it a dog-tick... sorry odinn I had to say that, bad weather has me in and not in the garden.

Names vary. In Michigan it's called a wood tick. In Carolina it's called a dog tick. It's one of the more common North American ticks, Dermacentor variabilis.
