OK I had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled one week ago and I am still in pain. My top 2 teeth were easy to come it but my bottom 2 were coming in sideways. I only have pain now in my bottom left tooth but the pain is pretty bad and is only helped with ibuprofen and pain killers. The pain is the worst right after I eat and after the meds wear off. I had an infection before the surgery so they put me on penicillin and now they gave me a second week to take. I started getting a really scratchy throat and bad headaches have been here since I got them pulled. I have been swishing with salt water after every meal and haven't drank alcohol and I don't smoke. If I'm already on penicillin and will be on it for awhile what can they do? And what is wrong with me? :(.

One week is too soon for pain to be gone when you have 4 teeth removed and an infection, sorry.
What is the prescription pain killer you take, and do you take it every 4 hours?
I would get out the blender and make smoothies to avoid chewing for a while. Let cereal get soggy or make Cream of Wheat or Rice. Soups.

I would alternate ibuprofin with Tylenol so that you don't hurt your kidneys, and take them around the 3 hour mark, before the drug wears off.

Have you been back to the dentist? Sometimes it is painful if you get dry socket. Call your dentist, describe your symptoms and current pain level. You may need a recheck.
