I got my tongue pierced 6 days ago, and now it is doing great. However, it is sinking. I noticed it a few days ago, but I just figured it was the swelling. Now there is a small area just around the top ball that resembles a bump. I figured it was minor swelling that is still in the process of healing. The crater is making me worry. I can pop my bar up and down easy without any pain whatsoever, but that little area around my top ball burns from time to time when I eat or clean it. I'm guessing the crater is too opened. What is wrong? I am planning to see my piercer soon, but wanted to get some input from others.

It could be an allergic reaction to the metal. My bellybutton began to sink in and then pull out and finally rejected all the wayy out but with no pain.
