I am a 39 year old Male who has a family history of migraines. I had gastric bypass almost a year ago and now can not longer take NSAIDs.

Question:
I have had a migraine for almost a week now and can not get rid of it... One minute I can be OK with it and think it is getting better then BOOM... I get a severe pain in the back of my head. Smells make me want to vomit. Then comes the light sensitivity and then blurry vision.
I would in the past take a NSAID and drink some coffee then lay down in a dark cool room.. In a couple of hours it was gone.. Now Nothing I do seems to help.

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

My first thought was acupuncture or maybe shiatsu (acupressure). Also, check into vitamin therapy. You may be missing some important ones, such as something in the B-complex family. (I swear by B-complex. B12 has totally relieved/removed my trigeminal neuralgia.) Medical science is great, but check into alternatives. Here's a page from the Mayo Clinic on migraine and alternative meds --

You need to see a doctor to make sure that it is only a migraine and not something worse.
