IM sorry their almost 2 weeks old and they're eyes are open and they are wabbally and all I did was lift the flap on the couch and they wabbled out.

Just remember, do not touch them yet. You will have plenty of time soon, maybe 2 or 3 more weeks, after the mom weans them, to handle them all you want. You will know for sure when this happens because she will be out and about and not wanting anything to do with them. That is when you must find a good kitty food for them, and lots of water. They will play in everything until they find out what it all is. Okay?

It is too bad you didn't have a bed ready for the mom to birth; because this is the greatest part, watching the kittens being born and seeing how they nurse and interact with their mom and siblings.

ThanK you for your info but I did have a bed for her but she didn't use it.could it have been because of the father cat?he stayed under the couch and helped her clean the babies and her.I was lucky enough to catch her having them.but now he won't go under the couch but when the kittens came out he did lick them and run.

I watched with a flashlight while he helped lick them clean.also she had two one day and there more the next day.one was still born so there's only 4.

You probably saw what you wanted to see, very romantic, but there is only one reason the male would be "licking" the newborns. She was probably too weak to fight him off. You are lucky you have kittens.

Cats don't mate because they like each other, breanne, it is purely nature taking over procreation.

Well I know what I saw and he was in no way trying to hurt those kittens .he was cleaning them and her;just like he cleans her all the time and she cleans him.so it would seen as though they have to at least like each other.he was a baby when I got him for her and for a while treated her like mom.maybe you've never seen two cats love each other but they do.gr hasn't Reyes to get under that couch since.and when they did come out he licked them to and then walked away so.
