Hello, I came to the United States with an F2 visa under my dad who had an F1 visa. When I went to go to college I applied for an F1 visa that was denied. Recently I applied for deffered action and they wanted me to prove that I no longer have F2 status. The confusing part is my dad is now a green card holder. My question is do I have F2 status or none at all (since my dad no longer has F1 status) and will USCIS grant me deffered action if they conclude that I technically have F2 status? Thank you for your responses!

F2 status ends when F1 is terminated... such as quit school, or leave the country without maintaining I-20, or change status to other type of visa, or death.

Thank you for replying. Because I had F2 and lost it does that mean that deferred action will not be granted to me?
