Hi,

Can anyone help as I'm at my witts end. For about 5 years now, I've suffered from daily and nightly what I can only describe as hunger pains/nausea. The symptoms are relieved by eating but return within a few hours and then I eat again. I put on 5 stone due to this pattern and the feeling is bad enough to wake me up during sleep in order to eat to relieve the symptoms, I also eat large portions at a time as a small snack won't alleviate the discomfort. Over the past 18 months I forced myself to losethe weight I gained by eating 1 large meal a day and have now returned to a kind of normal weight, however I still get the nausea/hunger pains but just put up with it. I've been to the doctors numerous times and been given antacids and had tests but all seemef OK, no h .pylori. I must confess I didn't go to a scheduled endoscopy for fear of some kind of stmoach cancer, but surely if it were I would be dead after 5 years of having syptoms? My blood count was fine ,no aneamia etc...

I just want to be normal. I was a huge caffeine addict which most people would say was the cause however I was taking large amounts of caffeine long before these symptoms began Ive cut down recently. The worst is during the night, morning I try to dddrink water ro relieve syptoms but it doesn't most days I just deal with it as I've had to learn to live with it.

Had anyone experienced similar? I've read some posts but normally from people who had similar for only a few weeks not long term? Eating normally relives symptoms for.just 2-3 hours.

I'm male 33.

Any advice much appreciated.

I have no idea why you put with this for FIVE YEARS.

Have you ever sought medical attention for this? If you are in the UK, then your socialized medicine is a good reason to seek whatever medical attention you need to relieve yourself of these symptoms.

We can't diagnose on the internet.

I have had something slightly similar for over 30 years, but it's much less intense. It's some nerves related to my sacral nerve wrapping around to the front lower left side. The nerves are irritated, and thus irritate my lower left bowel and bladder among other places. I too feel a sort of hunger and nausea at the same time (and constant urge to pee). I take ibuprofin and Tylenol, which helps cut down on all the sensations.
I'm not saying this is what you have, nor which nerve(s) might be doing this if it is. There are countless possibilities. It took me over 30 years to find out what it was for me.
