Got up this morning no water at all from faucet. Called city water utility and a tech came in found out no problem on the street: service is on, water can go through the meter. No leaky signs as the meter is not running. I also looked around house and went into claw space but did not see any leaks?
What is wrong? Helpppp!!

If you have one its going to be in the area of the water heater most likely. And they are usually mounted on the wall in most cases.
It's the thing about having good water pressure when you went to bed... but none at all when you woke up. You don't happen to have kids that might have played with any valves, do you?

Since the water dept says it is good to the house, I would check 2 things. There could be debris in the Pressure regulator or in the main shutoff. Open all the taps, find the regulator and tap it a few times with a hammer. Don't slam it!! Then, open and close the main shut off, probably a gate valve near the regulator. In some instances, the sliding gate can come off and block water flow. If this fails to get you water, you will need a plumber to trace the blockage back. What type of piping? Copper, CPVC, PEX?

Thanks for your suggestions. Plumber changed the pressure regulator outside of house then the water is back. $365 for the service! One $ a day for one year!
Again, thank you friends!

Glad it was such an easy fix. Even if it wasn't especially cheap.

Jilian, I like the way you look at the bill. In those terms, it is very reasonable to have water, huh? No doubt we all spend much more than that a day on things that we don't really need. Just too bad you can't pay them a buck a day towards the bill, but it does all work out the same over a years time, lol.
