My newly installed Glacier Bay Bath and Shower Unit leaks through the Shower Head whenrunning a bath but only when the lever is set anywhere between Hot and Cold. It does not leak if running just hot or just cold. Any suggestions? I have the prescribed distance between the Bath Spout and Crtridge. I have changed the Shower Head. I have played with the valve settings

You have a defective valve or the valve has some foreign debris in it. Remove cartridge, turn on water briefly to flush out valve. Inspect cartridge and reinstall. If leaking persist, replace cartridge.
Purchase new valve, exchange cartridges, return second valve as defective.

Hi Gmorry
I'm going to guess that the diverter knob is on the tub spout? If this is the case, then I suspect that the diverter knob is stuck in a position that is diverting water up to the shower head. In this case, replace the tub spout with diverter knob and it should resolve your issue (should be under warranty). You could also try seeing if you can loosen the diverter and get it to reseat properly.
Here, the issue may not occur with only hot or only cold water flow as the volume of water will not be as great as when hot and cold combine, right?
I'd change out the tub spout... ;)

What's the house PSI? If it's too high that would also cause your problem. Back to you, Tom

One other thing that can cause this issue: valve assembly installed upside down. I have also seen where too much solder was applied and ran into the valve body partially blocking the tub spout outlet of the valve, which forces water up the shower riser. Start by taking the spout off as Mark suggested and see what happens. If problem goes away, replace the spout. If not, pull the cartridge and inspect interior of valve body as Harold suggested. Please let us know what you find.
Lee.
