 I am a NYC employee residing in NJ. Non-resident deduction is taken out of my paycheck. My residence was changed to NYC in March 2006 but not changed with my employer so non-resident deduction continued to be taken out. However, no NYC resident tax was taken out. What tax forms do I need to file for NY and do I need to file a NJ return? Also, can I get a refund for the non-resident tax taken out of my check for the period I was living in NYC. Thanks for any help.
