Hi I seen my gp today because of abnormal bleeding, I have had 4 periods in the last 8 weeks, and not on any form of hormonal contraception. She done an examination and told me that I have a red patch on my cervix which isn't cervical erosion as it didn't bleed when irritated and also that my uterus is bulging? I'm now being referred for a colposcopy. What could the patch and bulging uterus be?

It isn't easy to make guesses when we don't know your history. The bulge might be a prolapse ('falling out') although I would have thought the doc would have used that word. Didn't you have an ultrasound for fibroids, cysts, etc.
