I am 64 years old and my only prescriptions are diltiazem 120 mg and spironolactone 25 mg. I have been taking these for about a year. For the past several months I have been experiencing muscle aches in my legs at night. These have become increasingly worse to the point of interupting my sleep. Then for the past several days I have had muscle pain during the day not only in my legs but various parts of my body. Could this be due to either of my medications? I have aches and pains ongoing from arthritis but this is different. Should I be alarmed or is it just another part of aging

Should not come on this fast, and there are leg pains that are signs of other things, I don't see where these medications should be doing this, but you can verify with your drugist and also with your doctor. I would have the leg pain checked

You need to have your calcium and potassium levels checked by your doctor. These medications should not be causing the symptoms you are having.
