I have not had a period in almost four years and the reason for that is at first I was breast feeding and I got the mirena iud put in. Well the mirena has been giving me horrible migraines and when the doctor found out that it was the cause of my migraines she took it out and put me on micronore low dose birth control pill. So the first month I didn't have a period then the second month I had one then this month about a week ago I had a period but it was really brown to black for a week and I have never had that happen ever and I am 28yrs old and have three kids and I had one miscarraige so it was scary to see it but I looked it up and it said it could be just old blood so I was OK.. after I went off it I douched to clean myself and a week has passed since it went off and now I have been like spotting, well when I wipe it is blood bright red almost pink and I am in a lot of pain... is this normal or do you think something is going on? Thanks for taking the time out to read this and I hope to hear from you... Jessica

This is pretty normal considering all you have been through. I warn you, though, about douching. You should never douche unless medically necessary with the use of a prescribed douche.

It has been found that douching can change the pH of the vaginal canal and can cause infection.

Yes ma'am I know that and mind you this is the first time I have douched in many many years but it was just thought of old black blood and it had an odor to it so I said I would do it this time.. I know that our vaginal is like a self cleaning oven sort to speak but I don't plan on continue to douche I hope I'm making sense... and I have one more question.. sometimes I don't take the pill at the same time every day could that make me become pregnant? Again thanks for your time in reading and responding to my questions... :)

Remember that there is no form of birth control that is 100% effective. You can get pregnant at any time using any form of birth control, even multiple forms of birth control. By taking the pill at the same time every day you increase the odds of the pill working as it is supposed to work.

I know of women who have gotten pregnant using the pill perfectly along with a condom. I'm one of them. I got pregnant not once, but twice. Another I know of got pregnant using the pill, condom and spermicide.

Remember to take the test using first morning urine for the most accurate result.

Just an FYI... Many years ago I had cancer. I took chemo for my cancer and was told that it would make me sterile. No more babies for me. 4 years later I delivered a healthy baby boy who is now 11 years old.

Sex = pregnancy. Unless you have had a hysterectomy, there is always a chance of pregnancy.

Great JOB! I am glad to hear that I can't imagine what that must have been like to go through that but God only has the last say so. I can tell already you are a strong woman and you don't give up so great job to you and I will be praying for you. Yes, I will be taking it in the morning but even though I am spotting if I am pregnant do you think it will detect because I am only seeing light red when I clean myself and it is not on the pad and it started doing this yesterday. You got me thinking baby now... lol but thanks for all of your information it has eased me a whole lot.

If you are spotting now, wait until next month to test. This just could a an "off" period due to all of the hormonal changes in your body.

Thank you for all of the cudos. Please keep in touch. Time for bed for me now, as I had a busy night delivering babies and I'm totally worn out.
