I have a brand new A/C unit installed outside, and I tried to run it yesterday with the hot weather for the very first time. Cold air is coming out, but not enough to make a difference. I have it set for 72 and it's 80 in the house. Our old unit that was 20 years old blew up last fall and it did an acceptable job cooling with our existing ducts. The only thing that's changed is the outside unit. What gives?

If you have a brand new unit then you may want to call the company you bought it from and seek a warranty claim. Also is it the same capacity as your old one was? Did they test it after it had been installed? Its hard to say what is actually going on because it could be any number of things that could cause it to fail.

It is ideal that you get it checked at a good appliance repair service center, to be on the safe side. I had a similar issue with my air conditioner and I got it checked at SOS Appliance Repair Center, Toronto!
Central AC is not checked at an appliance repair store.
