I know that this is an old thread, that said, I, too am looking for relief for my first time in heat/pregnant kitty who HAD to have a hysterectomy as she couldn't deliver her kitties (two) as they had died in her womb. This was a month ago. At first, she went to the nest we had fixed up for her and called and she led us, talking all the way from where ever we were to the nest, got in it and chattered to us to bring her her kittens. We had so wanted these kittens and to have them die in her was awful. She is still looking for them in the bed we fixed for her after 4 weeks. She has been attacking to kill our old spayed female, shrieking and clawing. It is kind of funny to see a tiny 6 lb kitten go after a 21 lb black and white Norwegian forest cat. She chases her whenever she sees her, corners her and traps her. The old cat did bully her when she was pregnant. We were told about a calming collar and got one. It's been a month of screaming, fur flying, and our old cat has stopped grooming and has taken refuge in an elevated bed and doesn't leave it often. Is there anyone who can give me a hint as to how long this will go on? I tried to find a litter for her to adopt, but it was too early and none was available. What else can we do?
