I am still paying child support and my youngest just turned 28 years old and is incarcerated. My wife and I have been separated for almost 25 years now and the state is still taking payments from my taxes and my social security check. I was diagnosed with aids in 1992 and my wife had to support me but she ran out on me. Ever since that time I have been paying support every month and my taxes are being withheld whenever I file. How can I get this debt eliminated?

Go back to Court and ask that the support order be changed.

Did you not pay for awhile? It could be that you are paying arrears that have accumulated over the years.

But I really find it hard to believe that you waited 10 years without doing anything. You need to get an accounting of how much has been paid and how much you should have paid and then go back to court.
