Hi... we have the opportunity to bid on commercial cleaning services for a 30,000 sf office building in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The details are as follows: 6 bathrooms with 4 stalls in each... kitchen... dining area... approx. 50 offices... two story building... 90% carpet... tile in kitchen and bathrooms... Prospect wants cleaning 5x/week. Also wants a carpet cleaning estimate. Could you please offer advice on how much to charge?

Around $.18-$.25 per square foot. Higher range if it is more difficult work. Good luck!

We were going to charge 9 cents/sf. You think that is significantly too low for this area?

Can anyone explain why it is that we estimated this job at 0.09/sf after member xyz788205 said the going rate in this area is .18-.25/sf and received a response from potential client who stated that we were significantly higher than what they were paying currently? Do you think the companies that are offering their services at such a low rate are using illegal immigrants and paying these immigrants less than minimum wage? We can't come up with any other logical reason.
