I will be receiving my boys for summer for 6 weeks. I currently pay 1200 in child support. Summer camp costs because of my rank structure will cost me around 900 dollars. My divorce decree doesn't currently state anything about abating for summer. Is there a way I can have this modified or petition the court to have the child support stop while they are in my custody? I can't physically afford both costs.

Child support is calculated as yearly. It doesn't matter if you have them or not if your ordered to pay then you are suppose to pay. As far as summer camp goes you could ask your ex to split the cost. But there is nothing that says that is the way its going to happen. I have to ask that if this is your time with the children then why are you sending them away? Or is this a daytime only situation ?

Understood. Now we are talking about something different. See the classification for that no matter what it is called should be called "daycare". And if you look in your paperwork you are more then reasonable to ask for 1/2 the daycare expenses. That is about the best that can be done at this time. Wish I had more for you but as I had said child support is yearly.
