My 13 yr old dog, rushed out to back yard to chase birds, heard him yelping, have been able to calm him down, but he is holding his right back leg up. Im having to lift him,he won't put any weight on it,but I'm just wondering was it more the shock? He is very 'babied',so after a long cuddle and attention ate chicken as always. Do I need to see a vet?
He is in good health, and hasn't had any problems with his legs.
Could it be old age, plus shock, maybe whatever way he has landed on his back legs?
Very worried
Is calm now

Hard to diagnose here but it could be ligament damage. If he still favours that leg, then I would have an X-ray done.

Could be a cruciate issue. Vet time! They will most likely want to do rads, but if the ligament is ruptured they often times can feel the laxity.
