I have been trying to find the title of a particular movie for years now. Here is what I remember:
-Loser-type man wants to take his family on a vacation which highlights the footsteps of his (great?) grandfather's time fighting civil war. He thinks his relative is a hero but he's really a loser. There is a flashback scene involving Abe Lincoln walking by the grandfather and feeling sorry for him because he has lost his legs below the knees (he hasn't. There are holes in the table and his legs are though them as a scam).
-Man drags his family on this so-called vacation. At some point they encounter an attractive man. The "loser-dad's" wife starts falling for the newcomer. At one point attractive man and loser dad are sitting around a campfire at a campground at night. They are bragging about who is more manly. Attractive man says he can "incapacitate a man at 50? yards with a frisbee." Loser dad says he can tell what time it is at night without a watch. Attractive man doesn't believe him and challenges him. Loser dad takes a pot/pan and bangs on it loudly. Someone in a nearby site yells "SHUT UP! IT'S TWO AM!!!" (or similar)
-Near the end of the movie Loser dad's family and attractive man are in the woods. There is a cabin involved. Loser dad's wife gets bitten by a snake.
I can't figure out this movie!! It is so vivid in my head but all the actors that I thought were in it don't have mentions in IMDB that I can find.
I thought someone like John Lovitz or Billy Crystal played loser dad. I thought Patrick Warburton played the attractive man.
Please help me!
