I am 28 years old unmarried hindu girl. I want to become a catholic nun.. Can anyone help me regarding this. I mean what is the procedure to become a nun and how do they convert you? I am a strict vegetarian and one of my friend told me that I have to eat meat while converting. Please help me

No, why would you have to eat meat, many Cathoics do not eat meat. You would first start going to Church, take classes to convert to the catholic faith. After that you contact one of the many religious orders who have nuns and apply to them. If accepted you will go though a several year process of learning and working to take final orders.

I am from India and being a hindu I have no idea about Christianity so can you please explain me the conversion process and life of a nun. It's a request please.
I know they will ask me the reason for doing so, but am not trying to escape from any situation. I have no liability as such neither financial nor emotional.
Also I have not committed any sin.

As far as the question regarding food is concerned I accept there will hardly be any vegetarians in the convent and have to eat whatever they prepare whether veg or non veg. But I want to know what you mean by the last two lines?
By 'different kinds of convent' you mean there might be a convent where all converted nuns live and they are not bound to eat non veg.

I am also concerned regarding the safety of nuns as I have heard about nuns being exploited sexually.

It would take all day to answer your questions. You really need to talk to a priest about being a Catholic first. He can tell you the steps to convert, such as classes and confirmation. Later you can ask about being a nun. You can't just 'apply' at a convent to be a nun until you are Catholic.

When I said there are different kinds of convents, I meant that there are some that are more isolated from society than others, and some even have vows of silence, although those are more rare. Some are more involved in the world, such as teaching, clinics, all kinds of help for the poor. Those last ones are usually the ones at risk, because of clashes with political regimes who see them as subversive.
I was only speculating about a possible convent where nuns can ask for vegetarian meals. There is no way I could know about all the convents in the world.
