I have to appear in court before a judge because I am working with JG Wentworth for a settlement purchase and the next step is to get a approval from a judge. I was wondering what the chances are of being arrested when I show for court. My warrant is an another county over 50 miles, and I may have one bench warrant in this county for unpaid court fines. Is the judge likely to look for those types of things before/during the court proceedings even though this isn't a criminal court matter?
I am one of the parties, but JG Wentworth is sending one of their attorneys for me and I have to show up with them because the approval is needed for me to get my structured settlement purchase allowed, and I also believe that the judge will wish to speak to me about the matter. Does that make the situation any different?
Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
