23. Can I still cough if I need to?
I'm sorry for some of the ridiculous questions, I'm trying to be as good as possible to our baby. I want this to be good for me and our child. Thank you for the help. Please only answer questions you know for sure. Not just guesses please. :) . Thank you. I wish all of you mothers or soon to be mothers the best of luck. By the way if you need to know this for any questions, I am probably about 4 to 5 weeks pregnant. I missed 1 period last month and I took 2 pregnancy tests, one Friday and one yesterday, and they were both positive. :D .

Congratulations... now you'll be needing to see a doctor where most, if not all of these questions can be answered.

I'm not going to answer your questions. Partially because many of them are dependent on several factors. Each pregnancy is different. Some woman show early, some later. Some women can exercise deep into their pregnancy others are bedridden. Etc.

What I will tell you is you should be making an apt with your OB/Gyn for as soon as possible. After a thorough exam your OB/Gyn will answer all your questions with specifics that we cannot.

You will probably show at the end of the fourth month. Maybe like 2 or 3 times you will need blood drawn. Avoid caffine, alcohol, cigrettes also everything you eat so will the baby so I suggest healthy food only. Drink a lot of water. Vomiting can start about 4 to 6 weeks after conception. It could last for some woman up to 15 weeks. It normally starts early morning and then a few times throughout the day.You should protect your belly and try not to fall.Well you should tell those who are closes to you and that will be supportive. Not a good idea to die or straighten your hair because of the chemical that passes through your hair and goes in you. It's normal to feel dizziness and sometimes you may have to put your head down because of the feeling of passing out but it pass quickly. Its normal to feel n

Your body is working hard to take care of the baby so as pregnancy progresses your organs with be pushed upward which can make it uncomfortable to breath depending on your position. Its normal for mikd cramping. If the baby is the right position at the end of 4 months you can see the sex. You should just try to as calm and happy as possible all the time. Everything you say baby hears. Try singing instead of laughing hard and walking instead of jogging.

You can take warm showers but not hot. Wear comfortable clothes later maternity clothes will help. You may get some discharge but its normal. As your belly gets bigger the weight of the fluid, placenta and baby will press against the bladder so you may urinate on yourself if snizzing or laughing out loud

Thank you. My older sister warned me about sneezing and peeing a little. I'm not very worried. I'm most concerned about a miscarriage. I'm 16 years old. I don't know what to expect. But thank you all for the support. :) . I really appreciate it.

When will my breast start to leak?

Are you pregnant? Breast feeding?

Why should they leak?

I'm sorry, there is no real percentage. I can't give you a number. There are many many reasons for miscarriage, age is only a small part.

Your threads have been merged. Please don't start new threads on the same subject.

1. When will I most likely start to show?
Around the 16th to 20th week

2. How often will I need blood work?
A couple of times during the pregnancy and then again when you go to the hospital for delivery.
3. What foods or drinks should I avoid?
Caffeine and alcohol, tobacco and drugs. Eat a healthy well balanced diet.
4. When will I start to vomit?
When you don't feel good. Not every woman has morning sickness or vomits.
5. Do I have to be VERY careful and protective of my stomach? If so, how?
Avoid rides at carnivals/fairs. Don't fall on your stomach, don't let anyone punch you in the stomach.
6. When is it best to tell anyone?
Whenever you feel comfortable with that. At your age, you can expect a lot of criticism. Also, many gals like to wait until they are past the 13th week due to risk of early miscarriage.
7. Can I die my hair?
Sure, just do it in a well ventilated area.
8. Can I straighten my hair?
Yup
9. Is it normal to feel dizzy or light headed every once in a while?
Yes.
10. Is it normal to have nausea?
For some girls.
11. Is it normal to be out of breath more than I used to be?
Yes. And it will get worse as baby gets bigger.
12. Is it normal to get cramps around the time you would usually get your period?
Yes.
13. At what point in pregnancy can I find out what my child will be?
Around week 20. But don't go out and buy strictly pink or blue. I've sent plenty of boys home from the hospital in pink because mom was told it was a girl and visa versa.
14. What should I worry about or be most concerned about?
The pregnancy health issues that go along with being pregnant at such a young age.
15. Am I too worried?
Nope, but you are worried about all of the wrong things.
16. Can I laugh really hard, or can it be harmful?
Why couldn't you laugh?
17. Can I still run or jog?
If you feel like it.
18. Can I still yell or talk really loudly?
Is this a serious question?
19. Can I still take warm showers?
If you want to be clean and not smell bad.
20. What kind of clothes should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in.
21. Should I still have discharge?
Yup.
22. Can I still keep my cell phone close to me or is it harmful to my baby?
Really? Another serious question?
23. Can I still cough if I need to?
God, I would hope so. Another silly question.

As I have pointed out above, your questions are valid, but you are worried about all of the WRONG things. What you are worried about here is the least of all of your worries.

When will my breast start to leak?
It really can happen at any time during pregnancy but definitely right after birth

J_9

Again, you are worrying about all of the WRONG things.

You should be worried about:

Gestational Diabetes;
Pregnancy Induced Hypertension;
Cephalopelvic Disproportion;
Seizure Disorder;
Income; and
Being a singe parent, just to name a few.

Wow we shouldn't want to scare her to death. I thought pregnancy was a joyful time. Whatever your situation is enjoy your pregnancy because children are gifts from above and not a burden. I have 4 children and had my first at 17. If there's a will God will make a way. Everyone deserves to have a chance to live. Be safe

So you want to sugar coat things? You want to pretend that nothing bad can happen? How is that helpful?

People come to this site for facts, not a lollipop version of the truth.

Frankly, if she's old enough to have sex, and old enough to have a child, she's old enough to hear the truth.

As for your part about God, this is a worldwide site, and not everyone believes in God. Keep God in the appropriate forums. God has nothing to do with pregnancy and its risks.

ijustlovehim,

My job is to teach, not preach, I don't subscribe to your God. The girl is 16/17 and NEEDS to know the REAL dangers of pregnancy. She needs to be made aware of the signs and symptoms of gestational diabetes and pregnancy induced hypertension rather than when her breasts will leak or whether she can cough or sneeze.

I say it as it is, I don't sugarcoat anything. Sugarcoating is dangerous in and of itself.

This girl needs to know what the real dangers are so that she can be made aware and can prepare.

I will address God, where there is a will, no God does not provide a way normally, sorry for preaching here a bit, Abortions, misscarriage, birth defects all happen, so there is no way to know what will happen. Normally at 16 the way is that the father takes off before child is born and her parents end up raising the child. Also what normally happens is mother ends up on welfare and tax payers pay most of the child cost.

The girl needs real facts and not a belief that it is all going to be OK, normally for 16 year old mothers it is not OK, they lose their childhood.

I thought pregnancy was a joyful time.

That depends on whether the pregnancy was planned or not. The odds are that a pregnancy at 16 was not planned.

It will depend on your doctor, your insurance, and any health issues.
