Hello,

I have full custody of my son and we reside in Hall County Georgia. His biological mother hasn't seen him in several years and she does not pay child support as court ordered or supply medical coverage as court ordered.
I know that her actions (or lack of) provide sufficient evidence to file a child abandonment against her but I am only unsure of if it needs to be in the county I reside in with the child or if I need to file it in the county that I last knew she lived in and has been seen frequenting the bars in?
I live in Hall, as previously stated and she last lived in Gwinnett, both in Georgia.
Any help would be apperciated, I just need to know what magistrate court/county to file her warrant in.
Thanks

File where you live. However, do you know that she is employed? Many NCPs don't pay simply because they have no funds to pay with.

As an aside. GA defines child abandonment as failure to support. I believe it is the only state that does so. So it is appropriate to file criminal abandonment charges in an attempt to collect support.
