No, it doesn't hurt. I haven't been a teenager in 50 years but haven't forgotten.

Some girls and women get 'pre-menstrual' discomfort which can vary widely and can change with age, so just wait and don't worry.

For me it was vague aches in my lower abdomen about a week before and then I felt OK about 3 days before and all during my period, but I had lots of friends who were totally different, even opposite.

Why teenage girls only? All women here experienced this at one time or another. For myself it was short, 3 days at most, not particularly heavy. Not much discomfort. Guess I was lucky.

Not pain for the actual period. Just discomfort sometimes associated with symptoms. I'm a teen too, so don't worry about it. I've started mine and it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. Just always be prepared. When my first started I was lucky I had sanitary towels! Don't rush to start - it's a pain in the backside! Xxx

Yeah.. menopause was a relief after 40 years of periods. I think what bothered me most was my mood got worse and worse after my period and then I had about 5 good days before the next one. Sisyphus had it easy.
