I was 7 weeks two days along and had bleeding and cramps and went in and the baby was healthy and had a strong heart beat. The bleeding continued with no heavy flow with minor cramping, when I left the er I had no reason for concern, they did a thorough you s and said there were no signs that the bleeding was associated with a miscarriage. The next day I woke up with a panty liner full. Then that afternoon passed the baby... when I left the emergency room the doctor said bed rest was not necessary just normal activities. How could I be having symptoms of miscarriage and everything being healthy to passing the baby the next day? Should I have been on bed rest? To help with stopping the bleeding? Is it possible that the blood was from around the baby and when I kept losing the blood the baby did not get the nutrients and oxygen it needed to survive?

The fluid inside the uterus, surrounding a fetus is amniotic fluid, not blood. There are many reasons for an early natural miscarriage; chromosomal, meaning for some reason the fetus was not meant to survive because of an abnormality, or hormonal, meaning age of the woman to name just two. Possibly one of these, in any event, the fetus detached and therefore miscarried. I am sorry for your loss if this is a baby you truly wanted, however, please make an appt. with your doctor to discuss this.
