I am a 26 year old lady. I have a couple who can't have kids. I want to help them. I know the procedures are costly and I don't want to overcharge. How much should a person ask there friends to be their seragent mother? Please someone let me know.

Usually a surrogate mother will only be paid expenses, medical bills and clothings costs, that sort of thing. Some women do get paid more, but that is entirely at the discretion of the couple and the surrogate mum to be, there is no real fixed amount for it. There may also be some legal costs involved, such as adopting baby after it is born (depending on if the surrogate is the biological mother of the child or not, that sort of thing) and of course getting a contract signed up before conception stating what is to happen to baby, though that itself can cause problems. All this sort of thing would be at the expense of the parents, not the surrogate mother though.

There is no "going rate" I don't think, but they should cover "all related medical costs".
Legally alsways better to have something in writing as to what that means and for how long after, you could have complications from child birth. A mutual attorney would be helpful.

I agree with the other posts - a surrogate mother is not into this for the money. To ensure that she is not trying to fleece the couple out of a small fortune, the couple retains an attorney and the fees are discussed. The "going rate" is all medical bills, hospital costs, post care, medicines, materinity clothing, legal fees for the surrogate mother's attorney, and sometimes the couple adds a sum for room and board. But that is all discussed up front with the couple and legal representation present.
