I have a 52" HB Caffe Patina fan model #119835.
It comes with a mini halogen 100W bulb. A thick glass covers the light.
However, the light it throws seems more like a 40W bulb.
What is the upper limit on bulb wattage that I can add?
Any other suggestions?

The fixture should tell you. Look for a sticker on the lighting unit. I would not go higher unless you know.
